News & Events

Be sure to check back here frequently for more information regarding our activities, awards, and events that may be happening here at Woodard. We want to inform parents so that they can be an active part of our school.

Make a Wish

Mercedes Sloarez, a Woodard 7th grader, got her wish from the Make A Wish Foundation on February 14. She wished for a trip to Disney World for a five day all expenses paid vacation. The students and staff helped celebrate the announcement with an assembly of nearly 800 students, staff, and community members in attendance. Mercedes received a grand entrance to the assembly for the announcement from student council members, cheer members, band members, and the school staff. Mercedes received her wish because she has loeys-dietzs syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that is currently affecting her aorta. Join us in well wishes for Mercedes and her family on their trip!

State Testing

State testing is coming up soon. The 8th-grade students will take the AIMS Science test on March 27. All students will take the AzMERIT tests in April. Starting April 11, all students will take the writing portion of the AzMERIT tests. April 17 will be the reading portion, and April 19 will be the math portion. Mark your calendars for these dates, and please do not plan any vacations or appointments during these testing days. Thank you for your cooperation and good luck to the students on their tests!

iPads at Woodard JH

Woodard Junior High loves personalized learning! Teachers in every classroom across campus use iPads to personalize learning and make it meaningful for our Roadrunners. Using programs like IXL, Nearpod, Achieve3000, Edgenuity, Google Drive, and iCabinet help teachers meet the learning needs of their students, boost reading comprehension, and increase math skills.

Do you have questions regarding iPads? Please consult the following guides for assistance.
